/ MY STORY
So, this is me… in between those fabulous 7ft tall sparkling queens 💋👠💋
Let me tell you a little bit about myself.
I’m Susie (hi!) aka The Vale Cookie Collective. I am a wife, mum to 3 amazing children, a cardiothoracic nurse of 20+ years and still counting, and also a part-time:
Cook/cleaner/chauffeur driver/events planner/sports coordinator/laundromat.
I have always had a genuine love for all types of cooking, but if I’m being honest, it’s baking sweet treats that brings me the greatest joy. There’s never an empty biscuit tin or cake dome at my house!
This went into complete overdrive in 2020, when Melbourne began a cycle of the harshest covid lockdowns in Australia. An hour of outdoor exercise permitted each day, children were all homeschooled, and the term ‘frontline worker’ became synonymous with anyone in healthcare and emergency services, so we kept soldiering on through the exhaustion. As a state we endured lockdown after lockdown… 6 in total.
Needless to say that over time, this took its toll on EVERYONE. My kitchen became even more of a sanctuary for me, a place where I could decompress and reset. But good things can be born out of a difficult situation, and for me it was the start of The Vale Cookie Collective. The most incredible paths are formed at crossroads ✨
Thank you so much for supporting my small business, I appreciate it enormously. I’m very grateful to have a foot in each space that I’m passionate about… in healthcare, and in my kitchen.
Susie xo
